A Little History
The component companies which came together to form PSG Asset Management were essentially PSG Fund Management, PSG FutureWealth and the Unit Trust business of the three Asset Management Boutiques of PSG Absolute Investments, PSG Alphen Asset Management and PSG Tanzanite. Whilst there existed both formal and informal agreements for cooperation between these companies, they also competed to a degree in some spaces which obviously led to duplication within the greater PSG Group.
These companies have been operating for a long time and have over the years developed into respected players in their own fields of expertise. The investment team is made up of a group of highly qualified, very experienced individuals who have garnered significant awards for themselves over the years and whose combined capabilities are sure to hold themselves in even higher stead.
Consolidation Paves the Way Greater Consistency
As PSG Asset Management, the consolidated unit is able to offer investors a simple, yet comprehensive range of investment products to suit their needs in one easily accessible place. By consolidating the life and investment platforms of PSG FutureWealth and PSG Fund Management we have achieved a one-stop platform where both investment advisors and investors can access our products – and the carefully chosen products of some other respected investment houses – efficiently, transparently and cost-effectively.
The merger of the three investment management boutiques came about as a result of the culmination of ever closer cooperation between the investment managers who were shareholders in their own businesses and who saw the opportunities that they could enjoy by working more formally together as one team with a unified house view, but at the same time with the freedom to continue to manage the funds they have stewarded for so many years. The combined research capabilities of the team is now significantly enhanced and the knowledge is shared throughout all the portfolios. The adoption of the team of a ‘house-view’ will also mean that investors will be able to enjoy a greater degree of consistency across the range of the PSG Unit Trusts and portfolios.
